Wake County Property Tax Justice Town Hall Unites Southeast Raleigh for Change

The Men of Southeast Raleigh, alongside community allies and members of the Wake County Property Tax Justice Working Group, recently gathered at Macedonia New Life Church for a powerful Town Hall and Community Strategy Session.

The meeting brought together residents, advocates, and civic leaders to address one of Southeast Raleigh’s most pressing issues—property tax disparities and the displacement of long-time, legacy residents. With rising property values and unequal tax assessments impacting historically Black neighborhoods, this collaborative effort sought to build awareness, share updates, and chart a path toward equitable solutions.

The event underscored both the progress already made and the urgent work still ahead. Participants shared personal stories, explored advocacy strategies, and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring that every family in Southeast Raleigh can remain rooted in the community they helped build.

While challenges remain, the gathering at Macedonia New Life Church served as a clear reminder that when residents unite for justice, lasting change is possible. Checkout the pictures below and follow DoRaleigh.com
